I'm home! yay! phew.. these 6 days FLEW by manz! hahas.
my journal 4 the past week.
6th sept 2003
the flight 4rm home 2 incheon, seoul, was juz so cool! i mean, everybody shld try flying via SIA @ least 10 times in the whole of their lifetime man! it was so comfy! haven't fly SIA 4 so long tt i've forgotten how it feels 2 take a plane. hahas. we kept eating n eating n eating... okay lah, not really, but the food they served was superb!
refreshment: ciabatta with cheddar cheese, served with ham n tomato salsa.
breakfast: fruit appetiser, parsley omelette served wif ham, roasted tomato n hash brown potato, assorted breakfast rolls n milk!

n all the air stewardesses were so pretty! * dreamy look *
straight after touching dow, we went 2 lotte world, korea's version of disneyland. slept on the tour bus becos i didn't slp much @ all on the flight. there was this boy hu kept crying n crying. all in all, he cried 3 times, each time a good non-stop 20 minutes. bleahs.
lotte world - - we were all entittled 2 only 5 rides.. so i took 4 really kiddy ones... becos there were old people in my gp. i took the roller coaster [french revolution]... it was SCARY!!! heart stopping, really.
coex shopping mall - - equivalent 2 s'pore's orchard road... just that things r more ex here. there was this super huge aquarium here.. quite like s'pore's underwater world... bought zie clique's souveniers here.
seoul's branded goods district - - was so bored wif shopping. decided 2 stay on the bus 2 slp. jet lag. armani, lv, prada, ralph lauren, gucci...
dinner was great! purely truly traditional korean. stone bowl - rice wif steam boat.
hotel was such a letdown. seoul palace hotel... shower system sucked. lighting system sucked. how 2 slp?
morning call was @ 6am [s'pore time] 2morrow... 7 am [korean time]... it's 8.45pm now... yawn.

ate american style buffet breakfast this morn. quite okay. didn't eat much cos no appetite. bleahs. woke up 2 rain. so troublesome! anyways, it's getting cold.
spent the 1st prt of the morn in bus 2 nami island, place where a few scenes of winter sonata was filmed. it was beautiful!piv wun be able 2 convey how beautiful the place was. words can't describe the feeling. u've have 2 be there, really... 2 experience... hahas. took a few shots tt weren't gd.. not gd enuff 2 convey the thoughts la... after all, how big a scope can the camera capture? sorry rennie!
ate hot plate 4 lunch. sat on the floor in the traditional korean styled way... refreshing!
spent a long 4 hrs in the bus after dis. we had 2 get 2 the eastern most side of s. korea. in order 2 get there, we had 2 go past the mountains. roads were so steep n windy. felt quite sich. motion sickness. pressure built up in my ears. sigh.
reached the orchard finally. we spent only 10 minutes there! after this gruelling 4 hrs bus ride, this wasn't worth it @ all! we saw only rows n rows of pear trees... most of them wrapped up. back 2 the bus.
went 2 abai village after this. part of autumn in my heart was filmed here, the prt where enxi's shop house was concerned. abai village is very laid baq, backward. it is nearest 2 n.korea so pple there refuse 2 allow s.korea govt 2 develop it. un snatched dis place over during the korean war. not bad, learned a little history... :) hahas. very near east china sea too... cold.
dinner wasn't very gd.. seafood steamboat.. ergh.
was a 1 1/2 hr bus ride hotel... still raining. n this hotel is 700 odd metres above sea level... it's cold! brr..
phoenix park resort is a top-notch hotel! so comfy! n the lighting n showering systems are just rite.. hee hee.. enjoying myself!
morning call's @ 7.30am 2morrow n it's ald 12 mn.. korean time.... so tired!

let me recall wat happened. writing this on the 9th becos i left my palm on the bus. thot i lost it. thank god i didn't... had a big scare! phew! -- wipes sweat.
the hotel was really great. had a great nite sleep! spent the next 2 hours of the morning xia-ing the mountains.
seoul was so darn hot n sunny... so diff 4rm the usual cold, cloudiness n rain i've experienced since the day i touched down.
traffic was horrible. jams, jams n more jams. stuck. hot.
went to cheong wa dae, known as the blue house. -> official residence of the president. can't take any pix... security was so tite. police men were everywhere.
next, it was the gyeongbokgung palace. this symbolises the centralised power of chosun dynasty. spirit of the 5000 year old history is captured in some of the refined n magnificent buildings... it was like the palace in my fair princess.. this tour was very enjoyable actually... want 2 be a royalty!!!
went 2 eat stwed ginseng chicken soup wif rice after this.. it wasn't tt bad.
went 2 dongdaemun shopping district after this... so big n huge! but things were not cheap... it was just a feast 4 the eyes..
ate hot plate again... sucks leh.. really. sigh.
this hotel is horrible! hotel olympia. ergh! heard tt there is sars... again in spore.. was watching the jap news btw! ain't i smart or wad? hahas.. saddened man! haix.

woke up... 2 rain again!!!!!!! * wail*
breakfast was disgusting.. there were only 4 types of food. bread, potatoe wedges, scrambled egg n cerel.. disgusted man!
this hotel just sucked... there were mosquitoes! big brown ones... only my bro got bitten.
went to the world cup stadium.. the exhibition was mainly about how great the korean soccer team was n everything.. esp. no. 19: the ang jung wat or ang jung wan.. dunnoe lah.. his goal didn't mean tt he was very skilful or anything lorhs... but the stadium is bigger... than the usual stadium... n the grass was ultra green! hahas.
headed 2 korean ginseng centre after this... mum bought some stuff.. so ex lohs! everything was prized in US $$$..
reached amethyst gem factory after this.. they looked like normal purple stones... then an uncle said sumthing abt u can onllly wear this stone if it's ur element... i dun even noe wad my element is!
then it was lunch.. ate hot plate.. disgusting!
off 2 myeongdong... korea's fashion street.. everything was so ex! even more ex than s'pore's! n it was pouring.. n the streets were still crowded... wierd pple... haix.. just walked ard..
dinner was steam boat.. had 2 gobble down everything becos we were going 2 be late 4 the performance..
got stucked in the jam 4 1 1/2 hrs... dammit! missed the NANTA theatre musical show by 1/2 hr... bloody jams! this is a show tt uses kitchen cutleries n utensils 2 make music.. so cool! no voices @ all... woo hoo.. totally enjoyed it! if it comes round 2 s'pore, i want 2 watch it again!

10th Sept 2003
today is the official last day i'm going 2 spent in korea. after that, i'm flying!!! u noe sumthing? i think 1 of the best part about going overseas is that u can take the plane. the SIA plane. hahas.
woke up 2 a cloudy day. sigh.. wad's up wif this weather man!
breakfast was not nice at all... we didn't eat in the hotel this time round.. we travelled out..
spent the next 1 hr travelling 2 the train station. this train station is located super near n.korea so managed 2 see the mountains. the mountains are bare! becos the pple are so poor there, they have 2 chop down the trees 4 fuel.. so yeah. train was actually quite clean n presentable looking.. quite comfy.,. fell asleep after a while.
reached sinchon fashion street after this.. korea's ladies street... ate kfc 4 lunch here. it wasn't anything like s'pore's kfc @ all! chicken wasn't 1 bit delicious n it was more ex than s'pore... sigh. bought a shirt here... mostly, it was justa feast 4 the eyes, again..
went 2 itaewon after this. this shopping district is actually quite small.. n it's super popular wif the foreigners, esp. the americans.. actually saw some philippians there.. was so surprised! bought ankle socks.. n souveniers... nothing much, really.
it was ald 3+ in the afternoon. so our last stop 4 the day.. n in korea was this shop tt sells duty-free korean goods.. seaweed n all that kind of stuff. bought seaweed.. super ex! 8000 won.. tt's about S$12.25 4 4 packets.. oh man! spent quite a while there..
went straight 2 the airport after this... reached there @ about 5.30pm... checked in soon after.
plane delayed due 2 plane condition. instead of taking off @ 7.45pm, we took off @ 8.10pm..
it wasn't tt late actually.
ate a super nice dinner.. the nicest i've had 4 days! had korean style spiced grilled chicken with seasonal selection of vegetables n steamed rice. + cheese n crackers. + ice cream. + bread roll n butter. + apple juice... yums!
had a super nice flight though there was a lot of air turbulence..
all in all.. i watched whale rider, bruce almighty, anger management, the in-laws, daddy day care, 4rm justin 2 kelly...
this is the best man!

I'm home! yay! phew.. these 6 days FLEW by manz! hahas.
my journal 4 the past week.
6th sept 2003
the flight 4rm home 2 incheon, seoul, was juz so cool! i mean, everybody shld try flying via SIA @ least 10 times in the whole of their lifetime man! it was so comfy! haven't fly SIA 4 so long tt i've forgotten how it feels 2 take a plane. hahas. we kept eating n eating n eating... okay lah, not really, but the food they served was superb!
refreshment: ciabatta with cheddar cheese, served with ham n tomato salsa.
breakfast: fruit appetiser, parsley omelette served wif ham, roasted tomato n hash brown potato, assorted breakfast rolls n milk!

n all the air stewardesses were so pretty! * dreamy look *
straight after touching dow, we went 2 lotte world, korea's version of disneyland. slept on the tour bus becos i didn't slp much @ all on the flight. there was this boy hu kept crying n crying. all in all, he cried 3 times, each time a good non-stop 20 minutes. bleahs.
lotte world - - we were all entittled 2 only 5 rides.. so i took 4 really kiddy ones... becos there were old people in my gp. i took the roller coaster [french revolution]... it was SCARY!!! heart stopping, really.
coex shopping mall - - equivalent 2 s'pore's orchard road... just that things r more ex here. there was this super huge aquarium here.. quite like s'pore's underwater world... bought zie clique's souveniers here.
seoul's branded goods district - - was so bored wif shopping. decided 2 stay on the bus 2 slp. jet lag. armani, lv, prada, ralph lauren, gucci...
dinner was great! purely truly traditional korean. stone bowl - rice wif steam boat.
hotel was such a letdown. seoul palace hotel... shower system sucked. lighting system sucked. how 2 slp?
morning call was @ 6am [s'pore time] 2morrow... 7 am [korean time]... it's 8.45pm now... yawn.

ate american style buffet breakfast this morn. quite okay. didn't eat much cos no appetite. bleahs. woke up 2 rain. so troublesome! anyways, it's getting cold.
spent the 1st prt of the morn in bus 2 nami island, place where a few scenes of winter sonata was filmed. it was beautiful!piv wun be able 2 convey how beautiful the place was. words can't describe the feeling. u've have 2 be there, really... 2 experience... hahas. took a few shots tt weren't gd.. not gd enuff 2 convey the thoughts la... after all, how big a scope can the camera capture? sorry rennie!
ate hot plate 4 lunch. sat on the floor in the traditional korean styled way... refreshing!
spent a long 4 hrs in the bus after dis. we had 2 get 2 the eastern most side of s. korea. in order 2 get there, we had 2 go past the mountains. roads were so steep n windy. felt quite sich. motion sickness. pressure built up in my ears. sigh.
reached the orchard finally. we spent only 10 minutes there! after this gruelling 4 hrs bus ride, this wasn't worth it @ all! we saw only rows n rows of pear trees... most of them wrapped up. back 2 the bus.
went 2 abai village after this. part of autumn in my heart was filmed here, the prt where enxi's shop house was concerned. abai village is very laid baq, backward. it is nearest 2 n.korea so pple there refuse 2 allow s.korea govt 2 develop it. un snatched dis place over during the korean war. not bad, learned a little history... :) hahas. very near east china sea too... cold.
dinner wasn't very gd.. seafood steamboat.. ergh.
was a 1 1/2 hr bus ride hotel... still raining. n this hotel is 700 odd metres above sea level... it's cold! brr..
phoenix park resort is a top-notch hotel! so comfy! n the lighting n showering systems are just rite.. hee hee.. enjoying myself!
morning call's @ 7.30am 2morrow n it's ald 12 mn.. korean time.... so tired!

let me recall wat happened. writing this on the 9th becos i left my palm on the bus. thot i lost it. thank god i didn't... had a big scare! phew! -- wipes sweat.
the hotel was really great. had a great nite sleep! spent the next 2 hours of the morning xia-ing the mountains.
seoul was so darn hot n sunny... so diff 4rm the usual cold, cloudiness n rain i've experienced since the day i touched down.
traffic was horrible. jams, jams n more jams. stuck. hot.
went to cheong wa dae, known as the blue house. -> official residence of the president. can't take any pix... security was so tite. police men were everywhere.
next, it was the gyeongbokgung palace. this symbolises the centralised power of chosun dynasty. spirit of the 5000 year old history is captured in some of the refined n magnificent buildings... it was like the palace in my fair princess.. this tour was very enjoyable actually... want 2 be a royalty!!!
went 2 eat stwed ginseng chicken soup wif rice after this.. it wasn't tt bad.
went 2 dongdaemun shopping district after this... so big n huge! but things were not cheap... it was just a feast 4 the eyes..
ate hot plate again... sucks leh.. really. sigh.
this hotel is horrible! hotel olympia. ergh! heard tt there is sars... again in spore.. was watching the jap news btw! ain't i smart or wad? hahas.. saddened man! haix.

woke up... 2 rain again!!!!!!! * wail*
breakfast was disgusting.. there were only 4 types of food. bread, potatoe wedges, scrambled egg n cerel.. disgusted man!
this hotel just sucked... there were mosquitoes! big brown ones... only my bro got bitten.
went to the world cup stadium.. the exhibition was mainly about how great the korean soccer team was n everything.. esp. no. 19: the ang jung wat or ang jung wan.. dunnoe lah.. his goal didn't mean tt he was very skilful or anything lorhs... but the stadium is bigger... than the usual stadium... n the grass was ultra green! hahas.
headed 2 korean ginseng centre after this... mum bought some stuff.. so ex lohs! everything was prized in US $$$..
reached amethyst gem factory after this.. they looked like normal purple stones... then an uncle said sumthing abt u can onllly wear this stone if it's ur element... i dun even noe wad my element is!
then it was lunch.. ate hot plate.. disgusting!
off 2 myeongdong... korea's fashion street.. everything was so ex! even more ex than s'pore's! n it was pouring.. n the streets were still crowded... wierd pple... haix.. just walked ard..
dinner was steam boat.. had 2 gobble down everything becos we were going 2 be late 4 the performance..
got stucked in the jam 4 1 1/2 hrs... dammit! missed the NANTA theatre musical show by 1/2 hr... bloody jams! this is a show tt uses kitchen cutleries n utensils 2 make music.. so cool! no voices @ all... woo hoo.. totally enjoyed it! if it comes round 2 s'pore, i want 2 watch it again!

today is the official last day i'm going 2 spent in korea. after that, i'm flying!!! u noe sumthing? i think 1 of the best part about going overseas is that u can take the plane. the SIA plane. hahas.
woke up 2 a cloudy day. sigh.. wad's up wif this weather man!
breakfast was not nice at all... we didn't eat in the hotel this time round.. we travelled out..
spent the next 1 hr travelling 2 the train station. this train station is located super near n.korea so managed 2 see the mountains. the mountains are bare! becos the pple are so poor there, they have 2 chop down the trees 4 fuel.. so yeah. train was actually quite clean n presentable looking.. quite comfy.,. fell asleep after a while.
reached sinchon fashion street after this.. korea's ladies street... ate kfc 4 lunch here. it wasn't anything like s'pore's kfc @ all! chicken wasn't 1 bit delicious n it was more ex than s'pore... sigh. bought a shirt here... mostly, it was justa feast 4 the eyes, again..
went 2 itaewon after this. this shopping district is actually quite small.. n it's super popular wif the foreigners, esp. the americans.. actually saw some philippians there.. was so surprised! bought ankle socks.. n souveniers... nothing much, really.
it was ald 3+ in the afternoon. so our last stop 4 the day.. n in korea was this shop tt sells duty-free korean goods.. seaweed n all that kind of stuff. bought seaweed.. super ex! 8000 won.. tt's about S$12.25 4 4 packets.. oh man! spent quite a while there..
went straight 2 the airport after this... reached there @ about 5.30pm... checked in soon after.
plane delayed due 2 plane condition. instead of taking off @ 7.45pm, we took off @ 8.10pm..
it wasn't tt late actually.
ate a super nice dinner.. the nicest i've had 4 days! had korean style spiced grilled chicken with seasonal selection of vegetables n steamed rice. + cheese n crackers. + ice cream. + bread roll n butter. + apple juice... yums!
had a super nice flight though there was a lot of air turbulence..
all in all.. i watched whale rider, bruce almighty, anger management, the in-laws, daddy day care, 4rm justin 2 kelly...
this is the best man!
